About

Join us in making a gift that goes directly to students!

All gifts will go directly toward a Grinnell Listening Project student training. Grinnell students will receive training through the Sustained Dialogue Institute, which works to train individuals in becoming facilitators of restorative conversations.

What is the Grinnell Listening Project?

It is a community-based initiative that aims to provide a space where Grinnell College students/faculty/staff and Grinnell community members can come together to engage in facilitated discussion. These discussions bring up important issues within the community and provide the opportunity to actively listen and learn from one another.

Why give to the Grinnell Listening Project?
1. Your gift will go directly to student trainings, giving them tools to create meaningful change within the Grinnell community.
2. You will be supporting your fellow peers, by contributing to a project we deeply care about.
3. The gift that you make will create lasting ties between the College and the community.

The Importance of the Grinnell Listening Project:

"The Grinnell Listening Project allows for a connection between Grinnell students and the rest of our community. It is important to remember that neither group exists in a bubble and that strong relations between Grinnell and Grinnell College should be a major goal and priority of ours." - Salma Hassab '27

"I love the Grinnell Listening Project's commitment to dialogue and nuance in creating a safe space for diverse opinions! It's a meaningful step in the right direction to help community members understand each other in ways that are genuine and mutually fulfilling." - Shubhi Devrani '23

"The Grinnell Listening Project is an initiative that works to examine the varying experiences of the Grinnell community, allowing for intentional conversation of lived experiences, shared humanity, and social problems to emerge. This project poses vital questions regarding listening and the act of listening as activism." - Sage Gladstone '26
