Campus Team Competition Returns!

Grab your co-workers and friends and join the Scarlet & Give Back Day Team Competition! Teams will reach out to alumni and friends of the College, asking them to make a gift in support of Grinnellians on April 9-10. Competitors will vie for the opportunity to award funds (from an anonymous donor) to their favorite student group, sport, or department on campus.

How to participate

• Form a team of 4-6 campus community members. Teams can be comprised of students, faculty, staff, or any combination.
• One member from each team must register the team online by 11:59 p.m. April 2.
• Participants should plan to attend one of the outreach sessions* below:
  • Session 1: Wed., April 9, 11 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (JRC 101)
  • Session 2: Thurs., April 10, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. (JRC 101)

*Staff members from the Office of Development and Alumni Relations will be assisting with calling and processing gifts. Don’t worry if you aren’t comfortable making phone calls. Scripts will be provided. Teams do not have to attend outreach sessions together. Outreach sessions are come and go as your schedule allows. Pre-signup for outreach session is NOT required as long as your team is registered for the competition.

How to earn points

Your team will earn points by engaging with alumni and securing gifts (even your own!).

• Attend an outreach session and earn points by …
  • Becoming an advocate through the official Scarlet & Give Back Day page = 1 point
  • Completing 10 calls (Contact lists and call scripts will be provided) = 2 points
  • Sending 5 texts to friends and/or family = 1 point
  • Securing a gift over the phone = 2 points

MAKE A GIFT OF ANY SIZE! = 1 point

What will the winning team earn?

The three highest-scoring teams will win the ability to direct money from an anonymous donor to an area of the College they choose (i.e., fund, sport, or department). The selected fund, area, or department must already be in existence.

🥇1st Place: $1,000

🥈 2nd Place: $500

🥉3rd Place: $250
